Just Granola Products

Author: Healthnuttxo

Hi there!

Today we are reviewing one of my favorite things… granola. In yogurt, out of the box, in bar form, UGH LOVE IT. I could eat it all day. I won’t…because it’s usually loaded with sugar…but here’s hopes to Just Granola filling the void for granola, that is both healthy and nutritious.

Note: If after this review you decide you want to try some, you can head over to the website and first time customers get 20% off with code “launch20”.

So a little backstory, Just Granola offers a variety of products, bars and actual granola, and some of the products are made without animal products, gluten or nuts. This appeals to a wide variety of people, whether you have to go gluten free or you are vegan. (note: some of their products DO contain nuts/animal products. AND- These products ARE made in a facility that processes gluten, nuts and animal products. ALWAYS Read the label!)

First up, the Peanut Butter Granola bar. BOY WAS I PUMPED FOR THIS.
Healthnuttxo fans will know…by now…hopefully…that I am a nut butter addict. So now combine my favorite food (spread? I mean it’s technically peanuts…) with granola?!?! Let’s get to it.

NOTE: THIS BAR CONTAINS PEANUTS, WHEAT/GLUTEN.
It was a Chewy and dense bar, little bit of cinnamon flavor to it. Did not taste much peanut butter to it to be honest, which is sort of disappointing for a peanut butter granola bar. It tasted more “oat-y” and “cinnamon-y” than “peanut butter-y”. I just made those words up so…follow along! 🙂 It wasn’t *bad*, it just wasn’t exactly my favorite. A bit on the bland side, and really not enough of a peanut butter punch that I need in order to be satisfied with a peanut butter product. 2 1/2 stars.

1 bar is 3 servings (which is SUPER easy to eat when it looks like a cookie!) at 130 calories, 6 grams of fat, 16 carbs, 2 grams fiber, 6 sugars and 4 grams of protein.

Next up, the Oat & Raisin Granola Bar.

Got this pic from their website ^
This one is made without nuts, gluten or animal products ( but is made in a facility that uses these ingredients so be careful!)
I liked this one better than the peanut butter bar. It was chewy, and again, had a nice cinnamon flavor. It wasn’t too sweet,  but with the raisins gave off an oatmeal raisin cookie type of feel. It was soft, but had like a very “toasted” almost slightly “burnt” flavor to it that was predominant. However, not bad. 3 stars.

Lastly, the oh so delicious, Apple & Cranberry Granola.  I had just a tiny bit of this after having my wisdom teeth taken out and LET ME TELL YOU, it was such a tease, because after an extraction you are not supposed to have any foods that may “get stuck” so I had to patiently wait until I was fully healed to enjoy the rest of the bag! The cinnamon flavor (again) is strong but really works here. It was a sweet and “soft” granola, as in, not crispy./crunchy which I guess is due to not using tons of oil.
It had a nice honey flavor as well, and sweetness was provided from bits of dried apple and cranberry.
I also detected a nice, light brown sugar flavor.
It was really quite nice straight from the bag. I actually didn’t eat it any other way. I demolished this straight from the bag 🙂
4.5 stars

One serving is 100 calories, 3.5 g fat, 15 carbs, 7g sugar and 3 grams of protein.

Overall,
I think the products are worth a try. I am a granola fan, and I like the idea behind these products. I also liked that they weren’t overloaded with fat or added sugars. Always a plus in a my book!

Note: I received these products for free from the company. This is an UNBIASED review.

Hi there!

Sorry it has been a while… I am in a graduate program and absolutely *swamped* with work. However, conveniently, I have been provided with various on-the-go storage for my food by Trudeau! They supplied me with all the above products, which is perfect for a girl on the go like myself.

Let’s get to it!

The Fuel Food To Go container (bottom of picture) was awesome. It comes with silverware (reusable) that you can attach to the container! It snaps shut with two levers on the side (kept my food IN the container, and did not “explode” in my bag which is always a plus!) and is both microwave and dishwasher safe. Those are huge perks to me, because… let’s be honest, I need something I can just rinse an put in the dishwasher at the end of the day. No time for hand washing 🙂

The Stainless Steel Vacuum seal container was my favorite. It is the “round” container with a cute little handle pictured on the top left. I used it early in the morning for my oatmeal. I cooked up the oats, threw them in the container, and not only did it keep my oatmeal nice and hot, but NO spilling. That is huge! I will try this for soup in the future.
NOTE: NOT MICROWAVE SAFE!!!!
Don’t worry, I did not learn that the hard way (lol), but there is STEEL/ metal in it so that is a no-no for microwave! You can also use this with cold!

Next up, The Fuel Condiment Set.  These are so cute honestly.

As you can see, I stuffed mine with hummus. I also used it for salad dressing, etc. It is the perfect size for roughly 2 Tbsp. so it also helps with portion size 🙂

Again, small and compact, no leaking, and easy to twist on and off. I threw them in the dishwasher to clean as well, and did so without a problem.

Next up, the Snack Pocket and Lunch Bag. The lunch bag itself I wasn’t a huge fan of just because there is no handle! I do like that you can “roll it down” so no air escapes and it keeps the food insulated. However, no handle = no bueno for me. I usually do not have room in my backpack for my lunch bag (Yeah…. I carry a lot of stuff…) and to have to hold a lunch box on top of everything else is not okay with me.

The snack pocket was a cute little bag which I actually liked to hold some crackers or a yogurt as pictured below. I closed it up with a spoon and napkin and then threw it in my backpack, and it was safe all day (until eaten, of course 🙂 )

Lastly, I got a little “sipper tumbler” pictured up top, on the right, in a magenta color. Some pros and cons with this one. It is a little too small for me. I used my Keurig to brew a normal size cup of coffee and it was filled all the way to the top with no room for milk. On the bright side, it kept my coffee nice and warm, and I liked the way the spout was organized, so that coffee did not come rushing down my throat and burn my tongue, but rather poured out slowly. It would be perfect if it was just a tad bigger!

Overall, I really like these products! They are all BPA free which is a great perk. You do NOT want to be using plastic containers with BPA in them, especially if using in the microwave! These products worked great, kept my food/drink fresh and warm, and most importantly, no leaks!

Again, I think the lunchbox needs a handle, and the sipper is a tad too small ( but hence the name “sipper”, so perhaps appropriately sized), but overall great products a worth a try.

Thank you, Trudeau for FUELing my commute!

I have received all of these products for free. This is an unbiased review.

One could argue that a sore throat is among one of the worst symptoms of a cold (right next to a stuffy nose), and with winter here (almost), the colds are coming!!!

Well, they are already here. You hear the coughs in the background, on the subway, in the gym, in the classroom. It’s inevitable you will get a cold, unless you have some secret in which, please let a girl know 🙂

Chloraseptic has provided me with 2 sore throat relief products, The Fast Acting Lozenges, and the Sore Throat plus Coating Protection Max Strength relief spray.

The Fast Acting Lozenges are in wild berry flavor, and have a soothing liquid center. They contain benzocaine and menthol as means to “numb” and soothe the throat as well as oral mucosa/pathways. They are of a decent size, and you have to suck on the lozenge a decent amount of time before the liquid center opens up and releases. The lozenges are mild in flavor, and not overly mentholated. As you picked up from my last post, I can’t stand the taste of menthol! However, these are tolerable for the menthol, and they do really help.

I got a minor cold a week ago and used these every couple of hours to soothe that annoying, scratchiness. The effect lasts a bit after finishing the drop as well. The liquid center is like a menthol burst, and has even stronger potency.

The Sore Throat spray however, is NOT my thing. I found it awkward to put in my mouth and try to spray down my throat, and I missed several times, just getting the back of my tongue. The taste is also very chemical like. It does leave a coating and prevents some of the soreness, but to me I wouldn’t buy this in the future because I just don’t enjoy this type of product. It contains Phenol and glycerin (as a coating) as active ingredients. Effective? yes. Easy to use? Eh.  To be honest it depends on your preference. And, with most things, DO NOT SHARE THIS— germs!

Overall, I like that Chloraseptic has a few options for sore throat relief. I way prefer the drops over the spray, and would buy those in the future for the next time I have a nasty cold (which we all know will happen). The spray is really dependent on if you like that sort of “numbing” and can apply it easily, but not my cup of tea.

Note: I received these products for free. This is an unbiased review.
