Reviewing one of my favorite things… peanut butter!

I recently ordered a few jars of Naturally Nutty peanut butter online, and one of them that interested me was the Honey Roasted Cinnamon Peanut Butter. C’mon, how good does that sound!?!?

According to the jar, it’s “made with Flax Seed” and “Hemp Seed” and has “omega-3 (ALA): 370 mg per svg. [serving]”. So, aside from the honey, there was cinnamon, peanuts, and some great nutrition facts!

I opened the jar, and noticed very minimal oil on top (hardly any)- a good sign for me already. As much as I love the natural peanut butters, I’m not a huge fan of stirring and stirring a jar of nut butter to get it to set. I took a spoonful, and here’s what it looked like.

I LOVED the consistency of this peanut butter. Not runny, but not stiff. Very thick and almost hearty, and while it wasn’t super smooth, it wasn’t chunky either. It stated it was “smooth” on the jar, but I would say it was more of an inbetween.

As I opened the jar, it had a nice fresh cinnamon smell to it. I tasted a bit, and unfortunately wasn’t as happy as I thought I would be. It kind of had an overpowering cinnamon flavor to it, without enough sweetness to back it up. In fact, where was the honey? All I tasted was peanut butter and cinnamon. It did have a rather delicious peanut butter flavor- thick, rich, just like peanuts you’d eat out of a bowl. But it wasn’t sweet, and I was disappointed.

Overall 3 stars. A good peanut butter, but not what I was expecting. Where’s the honey!?!

Organic Naturally More Peanut Butter

Author: Healthnuttxo

Calling all Peanut Butter Lovers… you are definitely going to enjoy this post! ūüėČ

Naturally More is a brand that makes both peanut butter and almond butter, but better. They make “What Peanut Butter/Almond Butter Should Be!”, meaning these nut butters are enhanced with special goodies to keep you healthy, but at the same time are still all natural and delicious.

For the Organic Naturally More peanut butter, it is higher in protein, higher in fiber, and lower in fat than standard peanut butter. It also contains no trans fats, is fortified with flaxseed and flax oil, and has no other additives. I was super excited when I recieved this in the mail from Naturally More as we all know how much I adore peanut butter- this one HAD to be a winner!

And it sooooooo is! When you open the jar, the oil is on top, so I reccommend stirring it the day before you actually want to try it and letting it sit in the fridge for a bit. The next day, I took out my jar and was happy to see it was a bit stiffer, not as runny,¬†but still having that ooey-gooey peanut butter consistency ūüôā

Honestly- the company had me fooled. Tastes like good ol’ peanut butter to me. Creamy and just slightly sweet, it has a nice, peanutty flavor. Perfect for PB&J’s, peanut butter & bananas, and one of my favorites, spread of a slice of organic chocolate cake (*drool*).¬†What is different about this peanut butter is that there are itty-bitty flaxseeds in it, so it has a bit of crunch to it. Different-yes. Weird- a little, but I liked it. It was sort of like eating crunchy peanut butter, but without the HUGE peanut chunks.

Overall, I give this peanut buttah’¬†5 stars. I love that it’s organic, high in fiber¬†& protein, and even¬†lower¬†in fat & calories than regular peanut butter.¬†Absolutely delicious, and it is now in rotation with my other favorite plain peanut butter,¬†Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter. I have over 30 jars of nut butters at my house, but sometimes I just want good ol’ PEANUT BUTTER- no iffs, ands, or butts. This one is definitely in rotation now!

Naturally Nutty nut butters

Author: Healthnuttxo

I’m sure everyone on bloggie world has heard of Naturally Nutty! I know I read favorable reviews from my fellow bloggers, so I was super excited when Katie from Naturally Nutty sent me 2 of her jars to try out!

The company was founded by¬† a vegetarian mother who wanted to create the “ultimate” peanut butter. She now has more than just peanut butter, and adds organic hemp and flax seeds for additional health benefits. They also have a special no stir formula, which creates a rich and creamy texture without the added messy oils. The nut butters come in a variety of flavors, ranging from chocolate cherry peanut butter to cinnamon vanilla sunflower butter! They have flavors to suit the palate of almost anyone’s taste buds. And,¬†of course, all of her nut spreads are all natural, made with organic ingredients, and contain no artificial colors or flavors, preservatives, or trans fats. How’s that for a nut butter!?

I was fortunate enough to be sent the Butter Toffee and White Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butters, which I was super excited to try. They came in cute (but too small for a nut butter lover like myself ūüėČ ) jars that were 15 oz each. Obviously, upon arrival I set both my jars down on the table, took out some spoons and things to spread them on, and dug in!

Starting with the Butter Toffee Peanut Butter, it was very creamy in texture. It had a light brown color to it, and when I smelled it, I could smell just a hint of sweetness followed by the yummy peanut smell I have grown to love. There was a little bit of oil on top, but not nearly as much as other brands, so I just gave it a quick stir. The taste was out- of- thisworld. This literally is the definition of heavenly dessert in a jar. Seriously-. It had¬†a buttery, sweet flavor, almost like buttery caramel (or toffee, I suppose), with a brown sugar flavor as well.¬†The perfect combo of sweet & salty, it also had a teensy bit of a crunch from the flax seeds and hemp seeds. This flavor gets¬†5 stars for taste¬†ūüėÄ

White Chocolate Coconut- this one was also good, but not as good as the Butter Toffee.¬† It wasn’t as sweet, and had a rather strong coconut flavor, leaving an¬†especially¬†strong coconut aftertaste.¬†I honestly didn’t really taste the white chocolate part of the nut butter, perhaps too subtle,¬†but it was rather just a lightly sweetened coconut peanut butter to me. I think I would have liked it better if it was¬† a bit sweeter, and maybe had just a hint of salt to it to bring out some of the flavors. It was still very good, however, and went especially well on a hearty piece of Whole Grain bread. This one gets¬† 4 stars for taste.

Overall, Naturally Nutty is a brand I think is GREAT! I also like that there is more fiber in these spreads than some flavored nut butters as well.
