Did you guys know that November is National American Diabetes Month? I myself am a Type 1 Diabetic. So I know how important it is to regulate my blood sugar levels, take the appropriate amount of insulin, eat right, exercise and visit the doctor on a regular basis. I hope that with each month that passes by, we are CLOSER to a cure!!!

So, I was emailed from Ms. Chen with a few tips below!

“Instead of sugar-filled soft drinks, juices, flavored water (i.e. Vitamin water), etc:
Try Hint Water (www.drinkhint.com), an all natural essence water that contains no sugar, no calories and no artificial flavors or preservatives. It only boasts natural ingredients and sweeteners. It is available in ten flavors (mango-grapefruit, blackberry, pomegranate-tangerine, watermelon, raspberry-lime, strawberry-kiwi, cucumber, pear, honeydew-hibiscus and lime)
Instead of regular candy bars:
Try SugarlessShop.com’s Chocolate Bar (http://www.sugarlessshop.com/), a no sugar added bar that is imported from Belgian. Made with unsweetened chocolate and cocoa butter, this bar comes in three different flavors (dark chocolate, milk chocolate and almond)
· Instead of baked goods:
Try SugarlessDelite.com’s (http://sugarlessdelite.com) cheesecakes, a low-carb option especially created for those who are diabetic or those who are watching their weight. All cheesecakes provide 12 to 16 slices and are available in four different flavors (original, chocolate swirl, strawberry swirl and pumpkin)

Instead of munching on cheese, chips or snacks with unhealthy fat:
Try adding healthy fat snacks into your diet such as avocado, walnuts, almonds and sunflower and pumpkin seeds.”
Thanks for the great tips! I’m sure you guys know I eat PLENTY of the healthy fats they were talking about. Especially in the form of peanut butter. Not going to lie, I eat a jar of peanut butter about every 4 days. Ha!  ;D
