I’m very fond of the Original Clif Bars. Yes-they are a little high in calories (250 for a bar) but they are nutritious, filling, and fuel me up perfectly pre-workout.
So, I decided to try the “kid version” of the Clif Bar. The company claims that is a wholesome bar with wholesome ingredients. No “junk”, or hydrogenated oils, preservatives, and artificial flavors or colors. They come in several flavors, chocolate chip, chocolate brownie, honey graham, spooky s’mores (my favorite-but only availble during Halloween. 🙁 !!, peanut butter, blueberry, and apple cinnamon.
I opened up the bar, and there are swirls of vanilla “icing” on the top. I took a bite-yummy! You can taste bits of apple and cinnamon for sure. It’s soft and chewy-kind of like a slightly undercooked cookie. I liked it-a lot! Certainly not just for kids!
It’s super healthy too. Pretty much all organic, whole grain, and with added vitamins and minerals. 1 bar is 120 calories, 2 grams of fat, 23 carbs, 3 grams of fiber, and 3 grams of protein. I think this with some fruit is a very substantial snack or a very light lunch on the go.
Organic Dried Apples, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Fig Paste, Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Oat Flour, Organic Apple Juice Concentrate, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice Syrup, Organic Soy Butter, Organic White Coating (Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Rice Extract, Organic Vanilla Extract), Organic Oat Fiber, Organic Milled Flaxseed, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Apple Flavor, Baking Soda, Salt, Natural Flavors.
Hey there! Just discovered your blog. I’ve never had the Clif kids. I have to try these! You’re now on my blog roll by the way. 🙂
I love Z bars. Yummy. My favorite is the chocolate chip and chocolate brownie. Yum.
