Moo Chocolate Milk Chocolate with Graham Cracker

Browsing Whole Foods the other day (you might think I live in a grocery store the amount of times I go food shopping…) I knew I wanted some chocolate.  No, no, not wanted….needed some. I tried to look for a bar of milk or white chocolate on sale (sorry Dark chocolate- my heart goes to milk or white!) and then I spotted this cute bar – Moo Chocolate Milk Chocolate with Graham Cracker. The kid in me couldn’t pass up on the cute cow on the front, and well, I do love the combination of milk chocolate and graham crackers!! So, regardless of the price ( I think it was 3 dollars) I picked up a bar.

The bar itself isn’t as long as other bars of chocolate are,  and was shorter than the size of my hand. I saw that the ingredients were natural, even made with organic chocolate as it stated on the wrapper, and it had 2 servings  a bar. So perhaps a bit more expensive than other bars I might have chosen, where I could have 3 servings for 2 dollars. But that’s not a big deal, it’s only a buck, and I’d rather have organic whenever possible.

Anyway, here’s how the bar looked. I was a bit disappointed- where’s the graham cracker!?!?

Yea, I could certainly see the graham cracker.

But it looked as if there was hardly any in there at all. It looked more like crumbs of graham crackers were scattered throughout rather than a nice chunk as the picture depicted on the cover.

Whatever, I thought. Let me just taste it.

Upon the first bite I thought, wow this is SWEET! I love sweets and sugary treats (I have a love hate relationship with chocolate frosting 😉 ) but I feel chocolate is different. I feel like it has to be sweet, but also rich. This chocolate was a very prominent tasting milk chocolate, with a vanilla flavor, and a good deal of sweetness. It was smooth in consistency (minus the graham cracker parts). The flavor reminded me of those store-bought chocolate bunnies I usually get on Easter. Really kind of sweet, but still pretty good.

The graham cracker aspect, however, was disappointing. If I hadn’t known it was graham cracker, I wouldn’t have been able to tell. It added just the slightest crunch, but hardly any flavor. And like I said before, it was sporadically scattered throughout the bar.

Overall, this chocolate was ok. It wasn’t amazing, and was a bit too sweet for my preferences, but hey, that didn’t stop me from eating the whole bar =)  The flavor and consistency reminded me of those Crunch bars. It was pretty good, but I don’t know if I would buy it again. 3 1/2 stars

IF you could mix ANYTHING in your chocolate bar, what would you pick? I would do tons and tons of peanut butter chips with dried banana chips as well. Mmm 🙂
