Ernie’s Epic Foods brings some very tasty salsas like the Perfect Peach and Gourmet Red varieties, which I was sent for free to try.
Perfect Peach- ooh! This one is like a “dessert salsa”. It reminded me of (don’t laugh…) a mixture of peach cobbler and salsa put together! There is no spice at all, and is sweet, with peach and citrusy flavors. This one would be very good for cooking, rather than with chips. In fact, I plan on using it with some chopped up pineapple and cooking it with chicken (or tofu) & rice for a tasty, pineapple-peach chicken dinner. Yum-o! I liked this one the best, but I’m more sweet than heat 😀 . This one gets 4 1/2 stars
Red Gourmet- this one definitely has more spice, and was preferred to my brother (the king of hot sauce) over the peach variety. It went well with tortilla chips and had a nice, spicy kick. However, the more I ate it, the more spicy it became. I would estimate a medium spice level, with a good amount of chunky onions, peppers and tomatoes. This one gets 4 stars.
Overall, these 2 salsas are very good. I reccommend you give Ernie’s Epic Food’s salsas a try. They are also low in sodium,(but you can’t even tell!) which is great. Pair it with some natural tortilla chips, and you can have yourself a satisfying and healthy snack!
