Pudding. Who doesn’t like pudding? I love chocolate pudding. Rich, creamy, delicious! So I waas interested to try ZenSoy Pudding. Made with soy? Hmm. According to ZenSoy, there products contain isoflavones, and “these isoflavones, or plant estrogens, show substantial health benefits in helping to lower cholesterol. Isoflavones also fight osteoporosis, reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and a variety of cancers, lessen menopausal symptoms and improve breast, endometrial, colon and prostate health.” Well that certainly beats Jell-o’s health claims (if there are any).
So these puddings come in four flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, Chocolate Vanilla Swirl, and Banana. Banana! I LOVE banana flavored things! i picked up two of the flavors, the Chocolate Vanilla Swirl and the Banana that came in cute snack packs.
I tried the banana first, being so eager. It wasn’t as creamy as i expected it, being used to chocolate, rich pudding, but it was still creamy. I stirred it a bit more and it had a nicer texture. It was more of a “jellier” than creamy texture to be in fact. However, it was DELICIOUS! Real banana flavor, not that fake artificial banana flavor (that you get with like, Laffy Taffy or other “banana” flavored things). It also had a bit of a vanilla taste to it. I liked it. I think it would be good slightly frozen. Yum!
Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl- That’s what I’m talking about! Creamy, rich and delish! Much more of a creamier/pudding consistency and texture as composed to the banana flavor. It was good too. The chocolate part was a deep chocolatey flavor, adn the vanilla part, although small, was sweet. These puddings rock!
Nutrition Facts are good as well. I like that there are no refined sugars/artificial sweetners, and each is fortified with some calcium.
The Banana flavor is 100 calories, 1 gram of fat, 21 carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber and 2 grams of protein.
